About this template

A Business Analyst
Resume Template, by a Business Analyst Resume Writer.

Quick intro: 12 years of recruiting experience, including many years at Google, and I run a business analyst resume writer service for IT, product, and consulting candidates. Business Analyst rewrites come through every couple of weeks. BA hiring is a quiet but real share of the funnel I see. So when I tell you what works on a BA CV, it's from screening these resumes on the recruiter side, not from an IIBA study guide or a LinkedIn post.

Most folks who land here pay for the full custom rewrite. We sit down with the initiatives you actually shaped, the workshops you ran, the BRDs and user stories you authored, the processes you mapped, the dashboards leadership reads. Sometimes that's a heavier lift than you need. If a clean skeleton with BA-shaped placeholders is the missing piece, this template covers it. ATS-clean, free, no signup. Give it a go.

How it works

How to use this template
to write a Business Analyst resume

The structure was written by a former Google recruiter. The placeholders push you to be specific exactly where it matters: the initiatives you owned, the requirements you authored, the processes you mapped, and the outcomes you can point to.

Strong BA bullets don't arrive in one draft. They build in five layers. Layer one names the action. Layers two and three add the tooling and methodology you used and the program or initiative they sat in. Layer four shows the analyst technique (the elicitation pattern, the mapping artifact, the validation approach). Layer five quantifies what changed: stories shipped, defects avoided, inefficiency surfaced, spend avoided, adoption lifted. Bullets that complete layer five are the ones a BA hiring manager actually circles. The framework lives in How to Write Bullet Points for Tech Resumes.

  1. 01 Task What you did
  2. 02 Tools Jira, Lucidchart, Power BI
  3. 03 Program Squad, initiative, rollout
  4. 04 Technique Workshops, BPMN, UAT, ROI
  5. 05 Metric Quantified impact

This template wires the five layers straight into your bullets so you don't carry the framework in your head. The side panel lines up clean: methodology and tool picks feed layer 2, the program-scope and surface fields feed layer 3, the technique fields feed layer 4, the count and rate inputs land at layer 5. The sentence skeletons cover layer 1. Why this matters: you only have to drop in real initiatives and real numbers. The structure does the rest, and the resume reads at layer 5.

  1. Pick your stack

Tap a chip to swap Agile for SAFe or Waterfall, Jira for Azure DevOps or Asana, Lucidchart for Visio or Miro, Power BI for Tableau or Looker, SQL for Python. Every mention updates at once.

  2. Drop in your numbers

Initiatives shaped, stakeholder workshops, BRDs and user stories authored, process maps, dashboards shipped, vendor selections, UAT releases, escaped defects, adoption lift, dollars saved or funded. Don't have yours yet? The defaults pass for a senior BA resume.

  3. Save as PDF

Click Download. The page generates a real vector PDF with selectable text and clean US Letter formatting. ATS-parsable.

Frequently asked

Your Questions about the Business Analyst Resume Template, Answered

Yes, end to end. No signup, no email gate, no paid tier hiding around the corner. Open the page, swap the defaults for your real initiatives, save the PDF, and you are done.

Yes. The exported PDF stays single-column and uses the section headers ATS systems already understand (Profile Summary, Technical Skills, Education, Work Experience). No tables, no images, no two-column tricks. Workday, Greenhouse, and iCIMS parse it cleanly. Want a second pair of eyes on the export? Run it through our ATS Checker.

You can. Press Edit at the top of the preview and click into any sentence on the paper to type over it. The side-panel placeholders keep flowing in as you change them; everything else is plain editable text you can rewrite to match your real work.

Press Download. The browser builds the PDF on the spot, no print dialog, no signup, no server in the loop. The output is real vector text on US Letter, parsed by ATS systems the same way they parse any clean resume export.

Swap the defaults. The template leans Agile + Scrum + Jira + Confluence + Lucidchart + Power BI + SQL because that mix shows up most in 2026 senior BA JDs, but every reference is a placeholder. Use the chips to swap Scrum for Waterfall, SAFe, or Kanban. Swap Jira for Azure DevOps or Asana. Swap Lucidchart for Visio, Miro, or Draw.io. Swap Power BI for Tableau or Looker. The side panel rewrites the resume across every mention.

Business Analyst leans toward requirements, analysis, and the bridge between business and technology: stakeholder workshops, BRDs and user stories, process mapping, gap analysis, UAT, and business cases. The Product Manager template leans toward product strategy and outcomes: roadmaps, prioritization frameworks, experiments, launches, and KPI ownership. If your day is requirements elicitation, process maps, and UAT sign-offs, pick this one. If your day is roadmap calls, A/B tests, and launch reviews, the Product Manager template fits better.

No. BA hiring managers screen on substance: the initiatives you actually shaped, the requirements you authored, the processes you mapped, the dashboards leadership reads, the business cases you funded. Layout origin is not on the rubric. What does cost interviews is a template padded with vague analyst-speak, which this one is structured to prevent. The skeleton came from a former Google recruiter; the substance is yours.

Why trust this template

Emmanuel Gendre, former Google recruiter and tech resume writer

Emmanuel Gendre

Former Google recruiter · Tech resume writer

I built this Business Analyst template from the patterns I saw work, not from generic advice. Below is the data behind every bullet, skills line, and metric placeholder.

  • Experience Hundreds of Business Analyst resumes screened across airlines, financial services, healthcare, retail, and Big-4 consulting BA practices during my Google recruiter years and at TechieCV. The Profile Summary and Skills sections mirror what survived the 6-second screen on a BA hiring manager's desk.
  • Expertise Bullets modeled on senior offers. The United Airlines section is structured the way Senior and Lead Business Analysts write their experience when they land Fortune 500 digital-transformation, product-squad, and ops-tech BA interviews: cross-functional ownership, stakeholder-workshop depth, requirements volume with quality outcomes, process-mapping wins with quantified inefficiency, data-informed decisions, vendor-selection outcomes, and UAT-release rigor.
  • Trust Stack reflects the 2026 hiring bar. Agile + Scrum + Jira + Confluence + Lucidchart + Power BI + Tableau + SQL is what hiring managers expect today; suggestion chips cover realistic alternatives (SAFe, Waterfall, Kanban, Lean Six Sigma, Visio, Miro, Draw.io, Azure DevOps, Asana, Looker) so you can match your real toolchain without losing keyword fit.
