Dear Palantir Talent Acquisition team,
I am writing to put myself forward for the Forward-Deployed Engineer role you posted on your careers page. The past few years of my work have gone into forward-deployed engineering, and I would be glad to bring that to your team.
Before applying I spent time reading about Palantir, and what grabbed me was your AIP rollout and the engineering write-ups on ontology-driven workflows. It looks like a strong moment to join, and I would like to put my forward-deployed engineering experience to work as the team takes that on.
Reading the posting, I take your three biggest needs for this role to be building custom integrations and data pipelines on customer systems, embedding with users to turn requirements into working software and owning deployments from prototype to production. Those decide whether a forward-deployed engineer works out, and I have real results behind each one.
On building custom integrations and data pipelines on customer systems, my toolkit is Python, SQL and REST APIs. As a Forward-Deployed Engineer at Databricks, I owned standing up data pipelines that merged a set of siloed customer systems into one working model. Beyond that, I wrote the connector library the deployment team now reuses across every new account.
For embedding with users to turn requirements into working software, I rely on user interviews, rapid prototyping and on-site iteration. During my time as a Forward-Deployed Engineer at Databricks, I handled sitting with operators for a week and shipping a workflow app that halved their manual steps.
On owning deployments from prototype to production, I bring CI/CD, containers and production hardening. As a Forward-Deployed Engineer at Databricks, I took on taking a rough prototype to a hardened production deployment that ran across three business units. Alongside that, I set up the monitoring and runbooks that kept a live deployment steady through a major data migration.
I would welcome a chance to walk through all of this in an interview and show you where I fit. I would be glad to help your team build and ship, and to grow right along with it.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Yours sincerely,
